NeuroLOG Middleware v0.4 deployment

Please read the user guide before starting a new installation of first run the client.

This release corresponds to the revision r1779 of the source code. This prototype is a distributed version of the middleware involving three sites:

  • I3S: hosts the central registry and a Site server (neurolog.unice.fr)
  • IRISA: hosts a Site server (neurolog.irisa.fr)
  • GIN: hosts a Site server (euterpe.ujf-grenoble.fr)

The servers are pre-deployed. Users of the previous test environment may download the client application and configure it to connect to its local Site server. Users are encouraged to report bugs or enhancement requests through the TRAC server (https://nyx.unice.fr/projects/neurolog).

How to update your NeuroLOG client

  1. Backup your .neurolog directory on your homedir.
  2. Create a new one with a lib subdir.
  3. Place the client java archive in the .neurolog/lib directory.
  4. Launch your already existing nlog_client script to start the client.

The client setup procedure will perform the connection to your Site server, and finally request a new certificate to the server. To connect to I3S site server, the secured port must be set to 8445 and the unsecured to 8082.

Changes description

A new minor release is available, tagged revision r1865 in the SVN repository. It impacts both the middleware and client softwares.

Several bugs fixes and improvements have been included:

  • Data Management improvment to help fix a proxy issue on the GIN site
  • Global management of the roles a user has subscribed to. This has two impacts:
    • new option “Display my roles” in the Data menu: this will collect all roles assigned to the user whithin the whole federation
    • in the metadata browsing panel, studies are displayed with a green or red flag that tells the user if they are allowed to see data of each study based on the collections of roles.
  • Fix persistence management issues that sometimes cause exceptions to be raised at client startup
  • Fix jGASW issues that prevent from packaging a tools and/or upload to packaged tool to the server

How to update your NeuroLOG client

The previous release of the client is compatible with this revision, somehow it's recommended to upgrade to the last one.

  1. Place the client java archive in the .neurolog/lib directory.

Changes description

A new minor release (revision r1912 in the SVN repository) is available.

Several bug fixes and new features have been included:

  • User grid credentials and grid proxy management
  • Undeployment of jGASW tools
  • Improve tolerance to unavailability of sites in the middleware
  • Metadata browsing: improve performance of datasets retrieval
  • Update client installation procedure in user guide

How to update your NeuroLOG client

The previous release of the client is compatible with this revision, somehow it's recommended to upgrade to the last one in order to get new features.
